The DuPont Spruance manufacturing site sits along the James River in Richmond, Virginia. Built on the Ampthill plantation site in 1929 to produce Rayon®, today Spruance is the largest DuPont manufacturing facility in the world.
Spruance employs more than 2,000 people, many of which are second and third-generation employees. It is one of the largest employers in Chesterfield County.
The site produces a wide range of consumer safety and protection products as well as solutions for the military, homeland security and law enforcement. Throughout its history, the Spruance site has supported countless non-profit organizations in the Richmond area through charitable giving and employee volunteerism.
Spruance Announces 2019 Charitable Giving Awards
The Spruance manufacturing site recently announced the recipients of its charitable giving awards that will make a positive and notable impact on the Richmond-area community. These 15 awards, totaling more than $130,000 in grants, reflect the values of the Spruance site, our employees and DuPont. The award amounts ranged $1,000 - $30,000.
